Shae Savage, Kinesiologist

Intuitive and Creative Movement Therapist

Shae carries a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, E-RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance. She is able to provide continue education for teachers and other practitioners with over 1000 hours of teaching experience. 

Shae graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2009. She is registered and is in good standings with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and Yoga Alliance. In both designations she is qualified to provide educational workshops and trainings to other professionals and students.

Shae has been in the rehabilitation industry for 7+ years working with a variety of clients such as insurance claims, workplace claims, athletic injuries, mental health, specialized populations including pregnancy, pre and post surgical as well as acquired brain injuries.

Shae also provides office and industrial ergonomic and biomechanical education sessions and assessments as well as risk hazard assessments and prevention tactics for a variety of local companies.

Shae did her 200 Yoga Teacher Training locally in South Surrey, BC where she completed her training in 2014. Shae has completed 85hrs of Kundalini certifications with Sempervivia Yoga, 85hr Prenatal Yoga Training with La Lupa Via Wellness and 25hr Prenatal Yoga Training with Lori Lucas; 500 hour Pranayama Teacher Training with Pranayama Sadhana.

Shae has completed 500+ hours in continuing education, various series, workshops and retreats.

Shae specializes her teachings in the transformation Yoga of intuitive Kundalini: An awakening practice that strengthen the body, regulates emotions, controls the mind and enlivens you.

Additionally, she teaches an empowering Prenatal Yoga series as well as Yin Yoga: a deeply integrative practice for the structural components of the body, coupled with aromatherapy and therapeutic adjustments.

In her teachings Shae creates a fusion between her rehabilitation experience with yogic postures and philosophy to empower, and support you on your healing journey. Shae uses techniques from earth medicine practices, somatic healing and rewilding principles for an awakening into the divine. Additionally, through conscious movements you are able to create a deeper connection to the medicine that already exists within you.

Shae offers integrated retreats, workshops, yoga classes, private movement therapy and education for students and practitioners.

My Story

I write with the intention in reducing the gap between a formal biography and the authentic journey of where I am today.

I grew up in a small farm town in BC. The town is lined by rivers and trees sitting at the base of glorious mountains. My connection to earth medicine practices started naturally when I was very young.

From elementary to high school I battled with anxiety, depression and body image issues. When I finally found weight lifting at 18 this became a change agent for my life.

It was the VERY start of my journey to self healing. My diet changed as did my outlook on life. I shifted from being unhappy to endorphin induced highs.

The game changer for me to really restructure my life was when I had my first car accident at 19.

My whole world flipped upside down, it was rehabilitation that taught me how to respect my body and how to LISTEN to my body.

Fast forwarding 6 years later this marks where the biggest shifts of my life occurred. Here I started the awareness of a deep connection made between my mental states in direct impact on my physical states.

Hatha was the starting point, it made sense anatomically. I soon found myself wanting a deeper education.

An old friend had been asking me to try a Kundalini class for a while and I was resistant to the idea.

I finally went to a Kundalini class and WOW. Because of this class I was FOREVER changed.

I felt liberation. I felt free. I felt ALIVE. I knew that I needed this feeling in my life EVERY-DAMN-DAY!

Over the next few years a community formed in South Surrey where deep healing and profound growth was occurring. I found myself more and more in alignment with my purpose. I saw the connections and deep friendships establishing in my studio, Savage Yoga.

Seeing these transformations within myself, over the years of deep self study, and seeing them in my students is beyond humbling work.

These experiences and trainings, formally and informally, have lead me to developing new treatment styles for private therapy and yoga. To become an innovator and merge what I had learned in rehabilitation and yoga both personally and professionally into a new treatment style that embodies ALL of you for optimizing your healing. Not just focusing on one aspect of you.

I am now currently adding to my classes in forms of progressive series locally and on an online platforms. I am engaging in empowering Prenatal Yoga practices combining my skills and knowledge into revolutionizing Prenatal Yoga. I offer the sweet slowness and deep respect of Yin Yoga practices. Where it was an opportunity to find stillness and an intimate connection to the body. While working on empowering the entire Self through intuitive Kundalini practices.

What I Do

I guide you on an explorative journey through the layers and identities that you’ve cultivated that define “who you are.” We travel into the subconscious realms through movement and breath, healing the perpetuating habits and behaviors that leave you stagnant and unfulfilled in your life. This process unravels the untruths that have pulled you away from your natural blueprint of lightness on your path to liberation.
